The Liebster Award

This little site of mine went live exactly 6 days ago, so I’m quite flattered that Emma from Bella & Bear has nominated me for this award. I do understand that it’s just an award for being wet behind the ears basically, but nonetheless, I’m happy she chose to include my baby blog. The Liebster Award is awarded to new bloggers who have less than 200 followers to help promote new sites and gain new followers in the process. The fine print: To accept the award please follow me on bloglovin’. When you make your own nominations, please follow the blogs you nominate and send them a note to let them know. The suggested number to nominate is eleven.

Here are my answers to the questions posed from Emma over at Bella & Bear:

1) Would you prefer to lead an easy life or an interesting life?
I’d prefer to lead an interesting life, by far. I’ve never regretted pushing myself out of my comfort zone. The problem is getting through that first push.
2) If you could know, for certain, the truth to any question or conspiracy theory throughout history (for me it would be the guy on the grassy knoll… who is he and what was he doing there?) which truth would you want to uncover? You can’t tell anyone else once you know…
Instead of googling conspiracy theories and randomly picking one that I’ve actually heard a bit about, I’m just going to be refreshingly honest. I really don’t give a damn about conspiracy theories. The funny thing is that there are actually conspiracy theories revolving around the media attempting to distract the public from the real news, so that they can continue some sort of new world order. If that one’s true, we’re all screwed for sure. (P.S. be sure to follow me on twitter and facebook and bloglovin’ and…) 😉
3) Do you believe in fate?
Absolutely. I believe that everything happens for a reason. It seems that way in my life at least. I met my husband, whom I completely adore, shortly after what I thought was my own life ending. Turns out, my new life was just beginning. Then I drugged him and carried him back to my cave where we made a bunch of babies. He’s stuck with me forever now. #FATE
4) How will you recognise true love?
Well, my true love is 6’3″ with hazel green eyes and…oh, do you mean in general? Honestly, I really think the notion of true love puts way too much pressure on couples. They expect perfection, and are thus entirely unrealistic. My husband and I are perfect for each other. We truly are in love and want to be together forever. However, we do disagree, argue, and completely annoy the hell out of each other at times. I vote we start calling true love “real love.” That should reign in expectations nicely.
5) Can you forgive and forget?
With children and my sweet puppy, yes. Wholeheartedly! With adults, it’s not as easy. I really like the vase analogy for trust. Trust is like a vase.. once it’s broken, though you can fix it, the vase will never be same again.
6) Chanel or Dolce & Gabbana?
I love the chic timelessness of Chanel, but wear clothing playful and youthful like D&G more often.
7) If you met your lifetime hero, would you be cool or would you totally lose your sh*t?
I’m not sure I have a lifetime hero, per se, but I do tend to get really nervous before meeting people. No one can ever tell, though. Apparently, I come across as very confident, even when I’m shaking in my booties. So Justin Timberlake, if we ever meet, don’t worry…chances are, I will not totally lose my sh*t.
8) If you commit to heels for the day do you carry flats in your bag, just in case?
In the past, I have. Now, I’m fully committed to my look for the day…or at least until I get home and can bemoan the unbearable pain of being fashionable.
9) If you open a bag of sweets or chocolate can you put it away without finishing it?
Oh God, please save me from delicious cookies! I have these cookies that I’ve discovered that are “100% natural,” which tricks me into thinking they’re good for me. Even though I know that eating a ton of sweets before bed can’t be good for anyone, I still regularly gorge myself on an entire sleeve just before passing out. I’ve found that I will eat less if I simply work out that day. That slight muscle ache serves as a good reminder to drop the deceptive devil cookies.
10) Which is your favourite season and why?
Summer is my favorite season, because I love being outside, and I’m a huge wimp when it comes to cold weather. I do try to make the best out of whatever season it is, as annoyingly optimistic as it may sound! For example, I don’t like the cold, but I love Christmas, fall and winter fashions, seeing the snow on the trees, ice skating (attempting to anyway), and finding excuses to have people over when it’s too cold to be outdoors for long.
11) Which animal would you save from extinction?
As a little girl who grew up playing with My Little Ponies, I was heartbroken to learn that unicorns aren’t real. I know that they never were real, so I’d bring them into existence if I could, just so I could brush their flowing rainbow manes.
